News from Foundation

Over the Term 1 break it was evident that Foundation students missed learning and school so much that they jumped into Term 2 with a bang. It was a busy yet confident start. Students continued learning their letters of the alphabet and became more confident with their general mathematics skills. Foundation students demonstrated excellent learning competencies in all areas and we hope for them to continue with their positive learning attitudes.

In Integrated Studies we learnt about the local community. Our highlight for the beginning of this term was going on our very first excursion to the Caroline Springs Lake on 15 May. Students were excited to have some time out of the school grounds with their classmates and teachers. We walked and observed the local places surrounding us on our mini journey. Students spotted the post office, the shopping centre, the lake, traffic lights, schools, medical clinics, churches, mosques, buses, cars – everything a general neighbourhood has to offer. Because they were so observant, students were able to link in-class learning to real life.

We finished our day with posting special letters written to our parents.

Thank you, Foundation Teachers.
